It was the sea that drew me to this area and the ever changing shoreline and quality of reflected light have been a source of fascination ever since.  I have spent the last few years working more abstract, but hints or suggestions of water often make appearances in my work and I find myself returning to that original inspiration of the sea. We have a beautiful view east over Luce Bay, which means I get to witness some glorious sunrises if I’m up early enough.  These are some of my latest paintings aiming to capture the light as it first peeps over the Machars across the bay.
